Three recent publications in the scientific literature by our Medical Retina expert Peter Cackett.
Age and Ageing article on "Ten-year mortality and long-term visual acuity outcomes in wet AMD patients treated with anti-VEGF." The salient message is that although the majority of patients lost vision, the rate of decline was significantly lower than that which would have been expected in the pre-anti-VEGF era and both interestingly and reassuringly the standardised mortality rate was lower than the national average.
